Here’s some Skywald Horror-Mood for you from August 1972. 60 cents worth of terror in black and white, with a movie review and letters page tossed in. Al Hewetson pens a little diddy with an angry immigrant in Hey Creep: Play the Macbre Waltz with Ferran Sostres’s note-worthy art. Being Snow-Bound drives an iced-over ship’s crew to a frenzy, and in Rot, Robin, Rot! a ye olde geezer with a bow and arrow meets up with flower-power. The real treats are when Pablo Marcos’s baroque and bosomy panels collide with Alan Hewetson’s refusal to play nice with people and their dire predicaments, like in The Tunnels of Horror. Odd. That monster looks like a second cousin to Beetlejuice, don’t you think? But all of the art in this issue is to die for, as well as the stories.
