Captain Sindbad (1963) Pressbook
Lost in Space's (the television series) Guy Williams stars. The script was pared down to lower the budget. Unfortunately, Ray Harryhausen was not involved and the film was shot in Germany. Yes, Germany. I haven't seen this one yet, so I'll leave it at that. But the pressbook is great.

You Only Live Twice (1967) Pressbook
My mom and I would hit the movie theater every time a new James Bond movie was released. She had this wonderful habit of, on my birthday, leaving the presents at the edge of my bed, so when I woke up I'd have all these goodies waiting for me right then and there. One birthday was filled with James Bond coolness: the Gilbert figurines and large action figures, the Corgi Aston Martin, the creme de la creme 007 secret agent attache case, and for good measure, Mattel's Agent M Zero Radio Rifle. I was in secret agent heaven that day for sure. Oh, yeah, this pressbook is pretty cool too.

Little Tough Guys in Society (1938) Pressbook
I'm not sure how good this could be without Leo Gorcey or Huntz Hall, but here's the Dead End Kids without some of the kids. Between Universal, Warner Brothers, and Monogram, the kids did keep quite busy. It's amazing to think they started out in drama, but moved into comedy, in the various incarnations. My favorite run, overall, would be with them as The Bowery Boys.

FIRST LOOK: BILL MOSELEY and BILL OBERST JR Star in Upcoming Killer Puppet Horror Pic ‘HANDY DANDY’
DETROIT (August 28, 2018) – Horror veterans Bill Moseley (Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects, 3 From Hell) and Bill Oberst, Jr. (3 From Hell, Death House) star in the upcoming killer puppet feature film, HANDY DANDY.
Helmed by Jeff Broadstreet (Night of the Living Dead 3D), HANDY DANDY commences at a shuttered TV studio haunted by a 200 year old dark magician known as Mr. Jolly (Oberst). Once the star of a 1960’s children’s show, Mr. Jolly has a long history of stealing living hearts from kids and adults alike in order to keep his evil puppet family alive. Tonight, as five unsuspecting intruders stumble into the puppets’ bloody lair, one brave man (Moseley) has come to face his past in the form of Mr. Jolly and stop the magician from taking any more innocent life.
The cast also features Jake Red, Cody Cameron, Arthur Marroquin, Danni Spring, Kyle Anderson and Katelynn Newberry as the puppets’ prey.
Oberst shared, “I’ve done a lot of horror films, guys, and I think you’re really going to like this one. It’s fun. There’s a lot of gore, brutality, really cute puppets…and it has Bill Moseley and the main puppet, Handy Dandy. That makes it pretty special.”
Shot on location in Detroit, Michigan, the film is produced by Don Borza, CEO of Milwaukee Junction Entertainment, from a script penned by J.S. Brinkley.

The Wizard of Oz Pressbook (1955 rerelease)
I was introduced to The Wizard of Oz by film historian William K. Everson. My friend, Ron (I wonder if he ever escaped Brooklyn?), who knew Everson, brought me over to meet him one long ago, but youthful, day. Everson invited us to watch The Wizard of Oz. We did. He cranked up the projector and we watched the movie. It's hard to describe the thrill of watching a movie like TWofO with a person like Everson, but what I thought I knew about the movie I realized I didn't know much at all. I don't recall if the copy was 35mm, but I can say he had a large enough room and big enough screen to show any movie properly. I wonder what ever happened to my friend Ron. We were inseparable for a time, but time isn't much for inseparableness. Ron was an ardent film buff and quite knowledgeable himself. He had a large collection of 16mm and 8mm films. I hope he fared well.
