'Shadow of the Vampire' was a seriously under rated film... Willem Dafoe was great in it, also the plus side was we didn't have to see his arse ;)

A Nighmare On Elm Street

I completely agree. Newer horror movies/trailers suck. The sad part is these people, who make them, have better equipment but I guess the lack the imagination.

Will newer horror movies ever win over older horror movies?

It really depends on who's watching. With my older sensibility, I love older fare when a younger person may find it too boring, slow, or irrelevant. Whereas, with most newer films, I find them lacklustre in repeating common tropes, commerciallizing endings for sequels, and frankly lame in their depiction of characters. But then there are standouts, which take new angles, both technically and storywise, to build on what's come before.

Hurray for Eerie Books for stocking a nice selection of horror material. I am a huge horror fan so this is exciting. Hard to imagine that Halloween is almost here again. Kudos on the blog post!
